Frequently asked questions
It's a way of distributing email to a whole list of people. Once you have
joined a list, any message someone sends to the list will also be forwarded to
you; and if you write back, your email will be distributed to everyone else on
the list.
At the moment the lists are fairly quiet, you won't get more than one message a
day on average.
You can leave a list at any time. If you are going away for a period of time
for work or holiday, you might like to leave the list, then join again when you
return.
Make sure that you 'unsubscribe' using the same email address that you
subscribed with.
No, if you write a message to a list that we consider illegal
or offensive, the list moderator may either send you
a warning or ban you from the list. As a rule of thumb, please don't send
anything to a discussion list that you wouldn't be prepared to see printed in
the Bulletin.
Member information is available on the eGroups website for each list. From a
web browser, go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/<name of list>
for example:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/redrope-national
You will have to log in with your email address and password. Haven't got a
password? Follow the instructions on the page for registering. Only members of
a list can see who the other members are.
You can look at an archive of messages by going to the eGroups website for the
list (see above).
Yes! If you have enough people with email in a region or special interest
group, why not start a list? All you need to do is go to the Yahoo Groups homepage and fill out their
'start a group' form.
